THE TROUBLE IS YOU THINK YOU DON'T HAVE TIME!
©GC Diaries

It's my sister's birthday today, so I called her to say Happy Birthday. She told me that after the big 4-0, each birthday is kind of a reminder....so I chose to remind her and this is what I told her:

"You have enough time to do what you want and become what you want to be.

THE TROUBLE IS YOU THINK YOU DON'T HAVE TIME!

For a moment, lets assume you really feel you have messed up big time, you think you have failed, you are doomed and you wish you had a different life.

If we consider the retirement age of 65 as an indicative check-point with respective to productive life, it means you have almost 25yrs left.

Let's say you really feel like you want to totally reset your life. You can go back to grade-1 and really concentrate with your vowels and handwriting. With the benefit of wisdom, you can really be serious and put in star performance through out primary school. Thats 7yrs.

You can go to high school and work really hard, knowing that its an important piece of your dream. Thats 6yrs. So we are now on 13yrs.

You can go to varsity, if thats what you want. Do medicine if you like. By the time you have knocked down 20yrs, you will be a medical doctor and you can be employed for 4 yrs to reach 65, then start your own private practice beyond that.

Tell me again that you are old??
Tell me again that you don't have time??
Tell me again that you feel you have not done enough??

The issue is not about time, its about how you look at the time and what you do with it.

Many people get surprised to learn that Colonel Saunders started KFC at the age of 65. I am not surprised, because I can see why. We are not one thing. Life is long enough...it is long enough to be many things, to do many things and to become that person we can be truly proud of....but there is a catch:
- its up to us
- its up to how we see the time we have
- its up to how we use our time
- its up to the vision we place before ourselves
- its up to the energy, focus and passion we put to pursue it

You have time, make the most of it.

How do I know all this, because I did the maths of my own life. I realised that as long as God still gives me life....I have a chance to go for it and I have a chance to make it.
